Acknowledgements
This webmistress would especially like to thank Marsha Bryant for all her
help in creating this newly designed website for our family. I
purchased this template design thru Marsha's site "Templates in Time" and she helped
me develop it into what you now see. Marsha designs websites for the USGenWeb.
If you are looking for a genealogy web template for your family site, you
need look no further than Marsha's site. I plan on going back for
more.
I cannot express enough the gratitude I have for those over
the past three years who have helped me to compile all the information that
will one day be inserted onto this site. Many of you spent hours and
hours developing your own databases of information and have participated in
the projects I have completed such as the six hour long DVD of our families
ancestors. Below is just a partial beginning list of those who have
been of tremendous help. As I go through all of the documents I have
received from many "new-found" cousins, your name will be listed. It
takes time to go back through all I have compiled.
For starters:
Earl Weightman - First and foremost, my husband. Without his support, I never would have accomplished much.
Ruby Sides Kerby - Ruby was the one who first read my
posting on Ancestry.com's message board. After waiting nine months for
someone to respond, it was Ruby who open the door wide by spreading the word
I was out there looking. Ruby recognized some of the names I was posting as
some of the names I had heard about.
Jim Tom Sides - What can I say, Jim is my inspiration.
I first came in contact with Jim in 2003. The Philadelphia part of my
family did not know of Jim. He is my father's first cousin from
Alabama and he was instrumental in helping me to reconnect with my "long-lost southern cousins."
I also am making plans to meet my Alabama cousins in the Fall of 2006. I met Jim for the first time in 2005 at his home in Florida, it was such a rewarding experience meeting a cousin you never knew you had.
Jim helped me keep my spirits up when I kept hitting brickwalls in my
research - he kept me going.
Robert Douglas Sides - Bob is my deceased father's brother and my godfather. Uncle Bob was instrumental in giving me clues into my grandparents past. He turned over all he could find that was in my grandmother's treasure trove including, letters, pictures and other memorabilia. I am now the archivist for my grandparents treasures.
Bob was also helpful in repairing a lot of the old worn out photos that were
used in the Ancestry Slideshow. My deep gratitude to my Uncle Bob.
James (Jamie) Edward Sides - Jim and I, along with Jim Tom Sides, worked very closely together to link our families together. Jim helped me understand and submit our family's DNA for the Sides Surname DNA Project. I finally got to meet Jim at in 2005 and we traded stories.
Christopher Allan Sides - Chris is my brother, he is the one who submitted his DNA to FamilyTreeDNA for the Sides Surname DNA Project. This succeeded in linking our Philadelphia side of the family to other lines in the Johann Heinrich Seitz line.
Nellie Sides Schueler, Clark Sitz, Wayne Bonner
and Fred Moretz - Nellie was responsible for getting word out about the
German documents that were discovered outlining the birth and marriages of
Johann Heinrich Seitz and Dorothea Felsinger Seitz, as well as their
children. Nellie worked closely with Clark Sitz, Fred Moretz and Wayne
Bonner to get these documents out to the public to aid those of us
researching our familys roots.
Debi Harper - Debi is the Project Coordinator for the Sides Surname DNA Project. Debi spends countless hours working on the project and sharing her findings on the website she maintains. On this site all the DNA results are posted and a short description of each family and their most distant ancestor.
Barney Sitz - Barney has posted a lot of the new found information on his
genealogy site and has helped to keep us all informed.
