Genealogy of the Sides Family
of Alabama and Philadelphia

Editor's Note: This site is a subsite of FromAllSides.org which is a genealogy site for others to aid in their research. The main site welcomes all other branches of the Sides or Seitz family and encourages their participation in the research. This particular subsite only houses the Sides families from Alabama and Philadelphia, PA. The relationship between members of the Alabama and Philadelphia families would be first cousins and on. One member of the Alabama family moved to Philadelphia and raised his family there.

 

Sides Family of Alabama and Philadelphia

This family genealogy site traces the history of the Sides Family originating in Alabama.  One member of the family, William B. Sides moved to Philadelphia, PA in 1930 after serving in the US Navy and married his sweetheart Ella Horn.  They settled in Philadelphia and raised their family there.  This webmistress is their granddaughter and I am on a quest to connect many lost members of our family throughout the United States.

The Sides Family are descendants of Johann Heinrich Seitz and Dorothea Felsinger Seitz who emigrated to America via the Port of Philadelphia on September 16, 1738. 

The above photo is of my great grandparents and their children.  They lived in Alabama at the time of this photo.  They are from left to right: John Ephram, James Lawson (father), Warren Corbett (standing), Sally (baby), Bama Idella Watts(mother), William Bennett (Willie, my grandfather), James Oscar and Alonza (Lonnie).
