Haehl Photos
The narratives above each picture are told by myself, Eleanor Sides Weightman and my relationship to those pictured. To know what relationship you are to them, figure what relationship you are to Eleanor. Have questions, e-mail me.
Our Haehl ancestors who came to America were Kaitan
(Johann) Jacob Haehl from Bavaria Germany and Emerenzia (Anna Caterina)
Haehl (maiden name unknown) from Bavaria Germany. Their names were
translated in America as Johann Jacob (in one census as Catan) Haehl and Catherine
(sometimes Emma or Meria) Haehl.
They departed from Havre, France and arrived in America via the Port of
New York on November 5, 1851 onboard the Ship Germania. They had five
or six children: Peter A, Joseph, Jacob, Theresa, Josephine and
Matthew. There is also rumor of a Barbra but I have yet to find
information on her.
Joseph (11/1894-?) and Edward Jacob Haehl (1883-1923) were both sons of Peter A. Haehl (1855-?)and Lizzie Federal Haehl (1857-?). Edward was my great grandfather, father of my grandmother Clara Haehl Wilson Derricks. Edward died at the age of 40 of Bright's disease, my grandmother was 11 years old.
 Brothers Joseph & Edward Haehl
Edward Jacob Haehl and Anna McCusker Haehl (1888-1930) were my great grandparents, Anna died in 1930 at the age of 42 of tuberculosis leaving her three daughters, Clara Haehl, Dolores Haehl, Mary Haehl and Anna May Haehl.
