Ancestry Slideshow

A few years ago I put all I could find on our family's past into slideshow format. Many newfound cousins played a part in putting together this three DVD collection of pictures and stories from all branches of the Sides family. The DVD and slideshow are enhanced with beautiful music scores.  Our family went back as far as Johann Heinrich Seitz from Germany. This was a collaborative effort on the part of many Sides/Seitz's all over the country. Many of us have never met each other but we worked diligently through emails, US Mail and phone calls to achieve the results we did. I thank all those who participated.

As a side note, for those who are really American History buffs, I am also a descendant of Mary Ludwig Hays (Molly Pitcher) of Revolutionary War fame.  A lot of this slideshow has history about Molly and the Battle of Monmouth.  I am a descendant through my mother's family.

The next edition of "Meet Our Ancestors" is in the workings, anticipated release date will be sometime the end of 2008. I am actively researching the Sides ancestors and their role in the Revolutionary War for this upcoming edition. Some of my research is from the books: "Southern Strategy, Britain's Conquest for the American Southern States," Robert Ramsey's "Carolina Cradle," "The Great Wagon Road" by Park Rouse and "Western North Carolina History" by John Preston Arthur.

Click here to view "Meet Our Ancestors and Remember Those No Longer with Us, 2005 Edition" slideshow.  Enjoy a few hours of American History, the history our ancestors played a part in while building this country and the freedoms we enjoy today.

You must have broadband or DSL to watch the slideshows right here online for free.
If you are using a wireless connection, there is a chance you may also have a problem, a ethernet cable connection is best.

I hope you enjoy the slideshows and our family's history!

There are plans to update the "Meet Our Ancestors" slideshow in early 2007 depending on the need and participation.

Thank you to all who participated and helped make our genealogy website, family tree and ancestry slideshow something for our children to remember; faces they can see of those they never knew; and letting the branches of our tree extend way beyond what we could have imagined.
